INDEX DE ERROS - WII

WARNING: If you have updated to 4.2 you cannot use bannerbomb exploit to install HBC. Working guide HERE. Those who have not upgraded, are prohibited to upgrade to 4.2! It will kill ALL homebrew!!

Here is an index i found on the net, and added a few things myself. Source is here

If you get an error, try to find it among these before posting for it:

-6:
SD/USB Loader Error Partition not Found. Most likely have a cIOS installed incorrectly, out of date, or missing. Possibly formatted the device incorrectly or device is not compatible yet.

-1:
SD/USB Loader Error Hardware not recognized. Most likely have a cIOS installed incorrectly, out of date, or missing. Possibly formatted the SD card or USB incorrectly, is unsupported, or not enough space.
Q. I have formatted the device correctly and have cIOS 36 rev 8+ but I am still getting this error; how would i fix this?
A. Be sure to have the device hooked up to the Wii before you power it on. You may lack USB support as well. Installing cIOS38rev14 would clear this up.
-1:
Wad Install Error Most likely have a cIOS installed incorrectly, out of date, or missing. If a file was needed, then it was not in the correct folder. If you are using cios38rev14 installer, put ios38-64-3610.wad file in the root of the SD card. Each programm needs its files in specific folders, so pay attention to that. Can also be a bad wad or not enough space on the Wii. Possibly formatted the SD card incorrectly.

0:
SD/USB Loader Error Corrupt ISO. Most likely patched incorrectly (you don't have to patch region when using USB Loader).

001:
Unauthorized Device Detected Most likely outdated firmware for your modchip. Possibly an outdated or missing IOS. Update to latest ios249

002:
DVD Read Error / Anti-piracy security Most likely old or missing IOS.
Q. How can I fix this?
Install a newer IOS 249. There is a 002 fix channel that will fix most of the older games, Neogamma r7 is the latest version for now. USB Loader GX,CFG, Uloader are other alternatives. Also mind that some games require alternate dol loading method to play. see this post.

003:
Unauthorized device on 4.2 thanks to N we have abrand new error code... So, no workaround on this yet, try unplugging any chips or whatever N thinks is unauthorized from the wii. Seems like Korean wiis are super defective to this. Some people have reported being able to contact their wii salesman, and complaining to him that it bricked after upgrade, they were able to get him provide them with a new wii. Thi is only if he provided you with a korean wii, and not warning you of the risks. If you did it by yourselves no luck on this..

102:
Installing/Uninstalling WAD's/Downgrading/Region Changing If it's a WAD files ticket just reinstall the WAD and then uninstall using Wad manager v1.3/1.4/1.5. If it's a missing ticket due to a downgrade or region change then you may have a bricked Wii. Try to reinstall all IOS's from original sources then run IOS Downgrader (or dont downgrade at all, its not necessary anyway...)

116:
Network Connection Error Failed to connect to the internet or previous installation failed.

324:
DVD Read Error Bad burn/media or no cIOS (like IOS 249).

349:
DVD Read Error Bad burn/media or most likely incorrect IOS.

384:
DVD Read Error Bad burn/media or out of date IOS.

574:
DVD Read Error Bad burn/media or out of date IOS. May not be compatible with certain versions of backup launchers (new revs should fix this).

972:
DVD Read Error Bad burn/media or out of date IOS. Possibly a computer issue.
Q. If it is a computer issue, how do I fix it?
A. First, make sure the type of media you're using is compatible with the Wii and/or your computer's DVD Burner. Make sure you are using DVD-R discs, seeing as they are most compatible. Verbatim DVD-R discs burned at 4x work perfectly.
1017:
IOS Installation Error Most likely using an old or incorrect IOS, missing an IOS, or the IOS you're trying to install cannot be installed on top of another.
Q. How do I fix this error?
A. Fix it by installing a newer IOS 249 than the one you already have (if you don't have it, try installing it). If you still get this error, fix it the same way as Error 2011.

1020:
Wad Install Error Most likely missing trucha sign if you downgraded. Other issues are Out of date IOS or bad/incorrect wad. Memory might be full.

1022:
Wad Install Error Most likely incorrect format or corrupt SD card. Memory might be full.

1029:
Wad Install Error Most likely have cIOS 37 (or other outdated/incorrect IOS) still installed. Memory might be full. Wad may be corrupt (patched/injected incorrectly).
Q. How do I fix this Error?
A. Fix it by uninstalling IOS249 (use AnyTitleDeleter) if you have it installed. Try using Custom Wad Manager, as some cIOS may be incompatible with the normal Wad Manager. Try a different wad.
1035:
Corrupt IOS Most likely caused by using incorrect or bad IOS/wad installations. Fix it the same way as Error 2011.

1036:
Update error through waninkoko's 4.1 firmware updater. Caused if ios60 patched was not previously installed. Follow the instructions for more details.

1048, 1053 & 1101:
DVD Read Error Bad burn/media or incorrect cios/neogamma version. If you are laready using Verbatim DVD-r burned at 4x, try switching to neogammar6 and cios36rev10 (will not work for new wiis/this has worked only for LU39 models). Also this error will persist on newer wiis, meaning that they have the new D3-2 chip which cannot read backups at all. Only option for them is USB loading.

2011:
Installation Error Most likely installed incorrect or out of date IOS.
Q. I can't install any IOS, I keep getting an error. How do I fix this?(FIX for errors 1017, 1035,2011)
A. You can use the Trucha Bug Restorer to patch the ios files that are essential for homebrew. Do this (does not work for 4.2)
If you are on 4.2, do steps 1-3 of this guide o r do step B and C of this guide

4100:
Title Identification Error When using DVDs, most likely bad burn or media. As for wads, most likely an incorrectly injected wad (.dol and rom injections).
Q. I injected the .dol/rom the same way I do all my injections. What am I doing wrong?
A. You'll need to make sure the account you're using has all permissions. If you're running Vista, you may want to right click on the program and click run as administrator as well.

If you get this error:

This installer can NOT continue!
There is no known vulnerable IOS installed on this Wii.
Please note that we will not use a fakesighned IOS Due to security reasons.

1)Hackmii installation failure it is a bug installed by the Hackmii team, which prevents Hackmii running under a fakesigned ios36. You will most likely get this when you are trying to install hackmii with a modified ios36, trucha bug or any other way. Install a clean ios36 and retry. See this guide for a solution

2)You will also get this error at 4.2 firmware... FIX IT HERE

Upside down HBC problem:
Again, Hackmii team prove their dislike for pirates. This will happen when the ios HBC runs on (press home button on HBC to see it) is trucha signed. Installing latest HBC may fix the problem.

Regaining health
In-between rounds, alternatively tap Plus and Minus until a chime is heard. At the start of the next round, your health will increase.

After knocking down an opponent, rapidly tap 1 and 2 alternately (Wii-mote controls) or "drum" the Wii-mote and Nunchuk. Mac will pump himself up and regain some energy while the opponent is down.

During the dialogue between rounds, press Minus. Doc will use a Remedy Bar, and Mac will regain some energy. This can only be done once per opponent.

If you are TKO'd and the ending animation begins, quickly tap 1 and 2 repeatedly. If done correctly, you will get one more chance.

Avoid losing
When you are about to lose a fight in Career mode, press Plus. Select "Restart", and you will not be marked with a loss and have the benefit of seeing your opponent's moves and weaknesses.

Defeating Sandman
Use the following trick to defeat Sandman (title defense) in Round 1. This is quite challenging. Remember that he winks twice to show his "Tyson" punches. Punch him to stop him. If the punch is on the same side as the winking eye, you will get a star. It will most likely be his left (your right) that will wink first. Alternate, and once you have your two stars, let him have it, then immediately punch him with the left hand in the face after the uppercut. This is when the fight gets difficult. He will do two quick downward punches, the "Night-Night" punch, the "Stand Still" punch, and the side punch (in that order). The "named" punches will take awhile for him to wind up in order to confuse you. There are two ways to get through this. You can do it the easy way by simply dodging and countering. The only thing to add is that extra punch in the head like the uppercuts. After that, deal with his "Dreamland Express". Or, you can do it the hard way, which can help you complete the "take him down in under 33 seconds" challenge. When he is about to hit you, stop him by punching him like you did with the winks. If done correctly, you should get a star each time, but he usually must be close enough when you hit him. You only need four more stars if you did the wink punches correctly. In total, when the six stars are unveiled on him, he will go down. He will get up at either "3" or "4", depending on what he was hit with. Do the same thing you did with the winks. Be careful, as you do not know which eye he will wink with, and after the second one, there is a delay before the third wink. After the third star, release it, and the added punch. He will now back up for the "Dreamland Express". Try to punch him with your right hand. He will dodge and say "My turn!". Duck and hit him in the head, then four body blows, then the head shot. Dodge now for an excellent chance at dodging the first of the uppercuts. If hit by the first one, it will not penalize you. Just dodge the next two, then give him the head shot, six body blows, and the head shot. He will do the "Night-Night" punch; be ready to punch him for that star, and use it. That should take him down. If not, punch him once more when he does the side punch immediately after to hopefully an extra star. He will now growl when he gets up, indicating that his Tyson punches will come at you at double time. When he winks, do what you did before. Punch him for a star. Punch with the left first. If you have a leftover star, it will help somewhat, but if not and you took him out a bit early with that last uppercut, both will end with about the same time. However, if you did not have to punch him another time, you should get a faster time. Get three stars and unveil on him, and he will say "Oh, come on!". The problem with this match is that is takes quite a bit of courage and skill to do, but it is not as difficult as some others.

Defeating Von Kaiser
Use the following trick to defeat Von Kaiser 1 in only five punches. This is a fairly easy feat. First, you need to get three stars. When he shakes his head for the punch, punch him at the correct moment. Listen for four clicks, then punch. Go for the head, as it is faster and more reliable. After that, dodge his next punch, and give him one counter-punch. He will cramp. Before he says "Mommy!", wind up your uppercut. If done correctly, he should be K.O.'d. This will require some practice.

Jogging alternate courses
There are three (and possibly more in Free Jogging) alternate courses to take in the Jogging mini-game, one for each length of course (Short, Long, and Island Lap). To access these, enter the Jogging mini-game as normal, and start jogging. When you see a single dog overtake your character, run past your guide so that the "Oh! You've passed your guide!" message appears. It will then read "Now follow the dog" and take you on an alternate course. The dogs appear as follows:

Short Course: As you run towards the single house with a Mii outside.
Long Course : Immediately at the start.
Island Lap: Immediately at the start.
The following alternate courses are on Island Lap:

Follow the yellow dog at the start. Soon a black dog will appear. This is the first new alternate course.
Follow as above, but after following the black dog for a while, a white dog will appear. This is the second new alternate course.
Follow the Mii guide at the beginning until you get to the bridge, and a brown dog will appear. This is the third new alternate course.
Follow as above, but after following the brown dog for awhile, another brown dog will appear. This is the fourth new alternate course.

Jump off mountain in Island distance running
Go to the Island distance running. When you first start running, at the first dog you see (should be a light colored dog), run past your trainer so the "Follow the dog" message appears. Keep following the dog. You will go up a mountain, across huge wooden bridges, then you will jump off the mountain.

Weighing objects
When you stand on your Balance Board immediately after choosing "Body Test" (the first time it asks, and not the time that it weighs you), hold a heavy object. The Balance Board will know that you are holding the object and actually weigh it for you.

Mario series references
When running (Free, Long, Short, and Island Jog), look around for the following icons: NES Mario, NES Luigi, NES Power Star, NES Mushroom, NES Goomba, and NES Turtle. Note: Mario is on the right of the bridge.

If done correctly, after a perfect throw, the ball will roll on top of the rail and hit the red button at the end. You will hear a click followed by the sound of an explosion if that happens. All 100 pins will then fall down. After completing the match, you will also get the Secret Strike stamp.

Easier control
If you experience turning, wheelie, or trick issues using the Wii Wheel, try using the Nunchuck and Wii-mote.

Quick start
When the countdown starts, wait until the "2" begins to disappear, then hold 2 to get a boost at the start of the race.

When the timer to begin the race just starts, hold 1 + 2. As soon as it is about to say "Go", release both buttons and press 2 as you would normally do to start the race. If done correctly, you will get a nice boost that will usually put you in first place in the 50cc and 100cc class. Note: This may require some practice.

Quick recovery from collision
When you fall into an obstacle, press 2 precisely when you land to get a temporary boost.

Quick recovery from POW Block
You must have drifting set to manual for this trick to work. Before the third strike from a POW Block, start to drift so that your kart or bike will be in the air for the third strike. When you land, you should only spin once and maintain about the same speed.

When an opponent uses a POW Block, it will spin you out on the third POW, causing you to lose an item and speed. However, if you perform a wheelie on a bike as soon as your hear the third POW, you will spin and lose your item but maintain your speed. Additionally, if you shake the Wii-mote, it will create a force field and protect you. Also, if you are off the ground (not jumping) from something such as a ramp, you will avoid the POW Block. -From: Greg

Quick recovery on bike after being hit
While on a bike, after you are hit or run into an item, perform a wheelie to increase your speed quickly.

Drafting boost
To get a small boost while racing, get directly behind someone on a long straight road. You also cannot turn while doing this trick. If done correctly, you will see several blue streaks that fly behind you. Keep driving straight, and you will see a blue force field in front of you. You then will get a small boost.

Easy hit
To score an automatic hit on anyone in a race, place a banana or fake item box immediately after you land from a DK Cannon. They will be forced to land on it.

Use same character with more than one player
This glitch works because you are automatically placed on the character you last selected. First, make have player one choose the character desired. Next, deselect the character, and move off it. Have player two select the character. Go back one screen, then enter the character selection screen again. You should now both be on the same character. Then, have both players select the character. Note: This trick also works for three and four players.

Changing Mii driver's class
Enter the Mii Channel, and change the weight of your Mii. This will cause your Mii driver in the game to change to the corresponding weight class and give you access to the corresponding new vehicles.

Fast time in Coconut Mall
To get the Expert Staff Ghost on the Coconut Mall time trial, use the Wild Wing medium kart. Take a right into a store on the right side after the first escalator, then use a mushroom. You will see a Delfino tree person at the door.

DK Summit shortcut
After you shoot out of the cannon and come up to the turn, go off the jump toppers on the left. This should send you soaring through the curve and give you a good lead.

Hidden items in DS Delfino Square
Hit the crates on the side of the road with either your kart or a shell. A Super Mushroom will sometimes pop out, but very close to the edge.

Koopa Cape shortcut
Once you go over the ramp leading into the fast stream, keep going around, and enter through the little arch with the ramp on the left. This requires something that gives speed, such as a Super Mushroom, Invincibility Star, or Golden Mushroom. Instead of going around the giant red hat, pass through the grass behind it, giving a straightaway path. This will help you win the race and improve your ghost times in Time Trials mode.

Hidden items in Koopa Cape
After making the first jump, you will notice a few Goombas walking in place. Fire a shell at one to reveal either nothing or a Super Mushroom. You can also run into one if it is in the status of a Mega Mushroom, Invincibility Star, or Bullet Bill.

Hidden items in Maple Treeway
There are many leaf piles on the track. Run through one to reveal a Super Mushroom or Banana Peel. Once you get on top of the tree with the caterpillar creatures, an Invincibility Star may be found in one of the bushes on the left side of the treetop, but not on every lap. You may need to veer off to the left after hitting the bush because the star pops out jumping left. This is useful in getting far ahead of the group if in first place or to catch up if near last place.

Hidden items in Mushroom Gorge
There are some Goombas on the track that contain Super Mushrooms or absolutely nothing.

Using Triple Shells as ramming weapon
After you get a Triple Shell item of any color, press 2 so that all three are spinning around you. Before you launch them, you can use them to ram other cars. It does the same damage as if you launched them at an opponent.

Avoiding Spiky Shells
When you are in first place and have a Spiky Shell coming at you, hit the brakes so the racers behind you will get stuck in the blast, allowing you to keep your lead.

Defending against Blue Shells
This trick requires a Mushroom. The Blue Shell goes up and comes down. Before it hits, you will have time to use a Mushroom and avoid the shell. You should boost forward and the Blue Shell should explode behind you.

This trick requires some sort of speeding item, such as a Speed Mushroom. You must be in first place to get a Blue Shell targeted at you. Once the Blue Shell is above your head, use the speeding item just before it descends. It will make a large explosion behind you, but will miss. You can also avoid them by using the following tricks on the indicated courses:

DK Summit: Go through the DK Cannon.
N64: DK's Jungle Parkway: Go over the jumps over the yellow river.
GCN: DK Mountain: Go through the DK Cannon.
Rainbow Road: Go through the tunnel with the giant stars on each end.

Defending against Red Shells
You can block Red Shells by equipping an item behind you. Once you have an item, hold D-pad Left or D-pad Right. Items that work are Green Shells, Red Shells, and Bananas. Do not hold Fake Item Boxes or Bob-ombs behind you.

Avoiding Red and Green Shells
To avoid a Red or Green Shell, go on a DK Cannon if one is available. The shell will disappear at the entrance. You can also use this trick for clouds. They will disappear above you on the cannons, and you will not be affected by them.

Getting rid of clouds
If you have a cloud over your head, ram into another player to get rid of it.

Team drafting boost
This trick requires two or more players. While playing in VS. Team racing, draft by following a friend somewhat closely from behind. Once you get the boost, go around him or her to take the lead in front of them. Have that friend draft behind you. Keep repeating this to quickly finish a race.

Winning online
A win counts as long as points are added to your total score. For example, if you get fifth, or sometimes sixth, place in an online race, it is still considered a win. The same goes for Battle Online. You can be on the losing team, but if you scored enough coins or hits and it adds points to your score, then it can be a win.

Golden Wii Wheel icon
After using the Wii Wheel extensively in all modes, a golden Wii Wheel will appear next to your name when you go online.

Profile name stars
You can add a star next to your profile name on the results screen and the Wi-Fi races by completing all Grand Prix races with a certain rank:

One star profile name: Earn a "One Star" rank in all Grand Prix races.
Two star profile name: Earn a "Two Star" rank in all Grand Prix races.
Three star profile name: Earn a "Three Star" rank in all Grand Prix races.

Rank requirements
The following are requirements to get a "One Star", "Two Star", or "Three Star" rank:

Get a final score of 53 or better.
Lead most of the laps.
Stay in first place for a good period of time.
Do a lot of tricks on ramps.
Avoid having to use Bullet Bills to catch up.
Use lots of techniques such as wheelies, avoiding POW Blocks, etc.
Do not fall off edges too much (one or two times is acceptable). If you get hit by many Spiny Shells and still win, this indicates that you are resistant and will probably have a high rank.
A perfect 60 is required for a "Three Star" rank. A "Two Star" rank ranges from 55 to 60. A "One Star" rank is 53 to 60 with most or all of these requirements.
